Born to Read: How to Raise a Reader
The American Library Association offers some insight into the importance of reading and encouraging children to read. Helpful tips are given

Support St. Mary School Library

SMS Library Birthday Club: Commemorate you child`s birthday by donating a book in her or his honor. A special book plate will be placed in the book.
Book Memorial: Honor a loved one by dontaing a book in his or her memory. A special book plate will be placed in the book.
Volunteer: Contact the school librarian if you can help out in the library or at the Scholastic Book Fair.
Donate Books: Gently used books you no longer need can be donated to the Library. Check with the school librarian.
